Website Search Engine OptimizationUsing Keywords in Meta TagsUse keywords/phrases in the following tags:Title TagThe Title tag is an important one, the first words being more important than the last. For example, if your title has 10 words, search engines will place more importance on word #1 than on word #10.Keyword Meta TagAlthough not used by many larger engines, the keyword meta tag is still used in some smaller search engines. Since search engines change their algorhythms without notice, it may become important with bigger engines again sometime. So it is worth the few moments to use your keywords in this meta tag.Description Meta TagThe description tag is used by many search engines to describe your site when returned in SERPs (search engine results pages). So write it for human readers, but a keyword should be included here.HeadingsIn my opinion, headings are the second most important tag after the title. In particular, H1 and H2.Alt TagsIf you're using images, take advantage of the ALT tags using keywords. Keep it descriptive for text only browsers, those with images disabled, and those using vision impaired software (which will read the alt tag aloud for the user).Emphasized TextText with emphasis such as bold, italics, or strong, will be given more weight by search engines in deciphering page content.Links & Anchors Also see: ![]() |
