Choosing Keywords
Write a list of keywords based on your pages' theme.
At Overture's Keyword Suggestion Tool, do a search for one of your keyword/phrases. You'll get results for how many searches were done for that keywords last month, and also suggestions for more related keywords.

Open a second window and visit Google.
At Google, search for a few of the keyword phrases using quoes around the keywords for exact matching.
This will tell you how many pages you'll be competing with. Remember, the goal is to find a keyword phrase with plenty of searches, but the least competition.
